Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Classic Monoface ‘Origin’ takes its proportions from one of the house’s earliest women’s watches. Introduced in 2025, its polished steel case measures 32.5 × 16.3 mm, matching the dimensions of the Reverso Dame from 1931. The narrow rectangle gives the watch a discreet presence, while preserving the Art Deco geometry that makes the Reverso so recognisable.

That women’s design history reaches back to the collection’s beginning. The first Reverso answered a challenge from polo players seeking a watch suited to the demands of their sport. Women’s interpretations followed soon afterwards, extending the double-sided case into wristwatches, handbag clips and pendants. Origin draws directly on those early, compact proportions.

Within the steel frame, the dial uses texture to organise its small surface. A guilloché sunray pattern fills the central rectangle, meeting the markings of the chemin de fer minute track. Around it, vertical brushing provides the background for transferred Arabic numerals. Blue hands introduce a concentrated touch of colour, clearly visible against the pale dial in the house’s close-up imagery.

The two bracelet and strap options give the same case different expressions. A flexible, five-row steel bracelet continues the reflective finish around the wrist; a blue alligator strap adds colour and a softer visual boundary. The steel version reads almost as a slender bracelet in the on-wrist images, with the dial held neatly at its centre.

The reverse remains a more personal surface. Its blank metal caseback can be customised with engraving or lacquer, allowing an inscription or design to sit on the other side of the watch. Engraving adds a private detail to a watch whose public face remains closely tied to the original design.
