The serpent around Roberto Cavalli’s Serpentine Noir bottle has a second life. On the 100ml flacon, the bronze bracelet can be removed and worn, turning a fragrance detail into an accessory. It is a particularly direct expression of the connection Cavalli is making between clothes, scent and the finished look.

Serpentine Noir Parfum was unveiled alongside the house’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Milan on 24 September 2026. The second fragrance in the Serpentine collection, it arrived within a presentation that brought Fausto Puglisi’s reading of the Cavalli archive into conversation with Los Angeles.

Serpentine Noir was introduced as part of Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2027 show experience in Milan.

From the runway to the dressing table

Titled “House of Prints: The Muses in Los Angeles,” the fashion collection combined archive prints, reconstructed denim, fluid silhouettes and body-conscious shapes. The range of references gives the accompanying fragrance a clear visual context: Cavalli’s glamour is expressed through the encounter between different surfaces and forms.

The black Serpentine Noir flacon concentrates that approach into a smaller object. Its dark body sets off the bronze serpent, making the bottle’s ornament the immediate point of attention. Textured scales and a red accent on the head give the serpent definition against the smooth black surface. The 30ml and 50ml versions carry sculptural serpent detailing; the removable bracelet belongs specifically to the 100ml bottle.

The 50ml bottle retains the sculptural serpent detailing; the wearable bracelet is reserved for the 100ml version.

A darker scent vocabulary

Created by Givaudan perfumer Gael Montero, Serpentine Noir is described by the house as a woody, leather and ambery composition. Its published note structure opens with cardamom, apple and raspberry, moves through violet, saffron and patchouli, and settles on leather, oud and amber.

On paper, that arrangement sets fruit and spice against a deeper base, echoing the visual contrast between the bottle’s black surface and bronze ornament. It is a reading of the composition supplied by the house, rather than a claim about how the perfume develops on skin. Montero places raspberry, leather and saffron at the centre of his account of the fragrance.

The most distinctive design decision remains the bracelet. It lets the serpent move from the dressing table into the wardrobe, giving a recognisable house motif a purpose beyond packaging. The outer carton repeats the bottle’s black-and-metallic palette through a patterned surface and reflective panels. In a launch tied to a fashion collection, that small transformation makes the relationship between fragrance and dress tangible.

The house’s October announcement specifies a September 2026 release through selected retailers in Italy, in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml sizes.
