At Bloomingdale’s Dubai Mall, a focused edit brings the London footwear house’s sinuous lines into burgundy, deep red and gold.

The defining feature of a Malone Souliers shoe is often a line: the undulation of an upper, the arc of a strap or the cut that reveals the foot. In the Bloomingdale’s edit, a concentrated palette makes that geometry particularly legible. Burgundy deepens a pointed mule; gold catches the edge of an open sandal; mesh allows the structure to be seen without giving it visual weight.

Presented in a dedicated shop-in-shop at Dubai Mall, the selection brings together the Maureen, Norah and Sylvie. The press announcement describes exclusive colourways for Bloomingdale’s across deep red, burgundy and gold. This is a study in how an established shape changes character through material and colour, with each silhouette retaining a distinct role.

The Maureen is the clearest expression of the house’s curved line. Its pointed toe and two fine straps establish a recognisable rhythm, while the sweeping upper gives the mule its particular profile. For the burgundy Maureen 85 in this edit, the retailer specifies mesh, satin and crystals. The tonal decoration sits close to the colour of the shoe, concentrating attention on texture rather than introducing a contrasting ornament.

In the open sandals, the relationship between strap and surface becomes more exposed. The gold-toned pair pictured here sets crossing bands over fine mesh, with a substantial heel anchoring the light upper. The darker burgundy version brings a similar interplay into a denser colour. The family resemblance is apparent, even as the pointed mule and open sandal describe the foot differently.

The Sylvie expands the proportions. Its platform and 125 mm heel create a more emphatic profile, balanced by an ankle strap and a mesh-and-metallic-nappa upper. Seen from the side, the raised sole and broad heel supply the visual architecture; the finer straps keep that volume from overwhelming the foot.

Founded by Mary Alice Malone, the London-based label makes its shoes in Italy. Here, the interest lies in the consistency of its design language across very different proportions. The edit, presented on the ground floor of Bloomingdale’s Dubai Mall, lets the curve of a strap do as much expressive work as the intensity of a colour.
