Simone Bellotti takes the uniform as the starting point for Jil Sander’s spring–summer 2027 collection, then begins to disturb its order. Tailoring supplies the initial discipline, but the familiar lines are gradually shifted, folded and interrupted. The interest lies in how much a garment can change while retaining a trace of the structure that gave it authority.

That process develops through proportion. Folds twist around the body, layers pull in different directions and volumes expand even as other areas become more closely contained. The collection’s controlled foundation gives these adjustments their effect: a disruption is most visible when the viewer can still recognise what has been disrupted.

Knitwear and dresses take the idea towards softness. Knits are crumpled, hemlines rise and pale dresses gather into shapes that stand away from the body. Their volume is deliberately at odds with the restraint associated with a uniform. Yet the manipulation remains precise, keeping the collection connected to tailoring even where its silhouettes appear less contained.
Colour introduces another interruption. Muted neutrals are punctuated by stronger accents, while Japanese landscape imagery is compressed and altered until it approaches abstraction. The print becomes another way of unsettling a calm surface, bringing a less predictable element into the collection’s visual rhythm.

Accessories follow the same argument. Pointed shoes stretch into elongated outlines; lace-up flats are softened in construction. Geometric bags are made to bend and collapse, with flashes of colour appearing as they open. The shape remains recognisable, but its expected firmness is no longer entirely dependable.

Bellotti’s approach keeps the collection in conversation with Jil Sander’s established language without treating that language as fixed. A uniform can be exacting without remaining unchanged. Through folds, gathering, shifting scale and a controlled use of colour, spring–summer 2027 explores the character that emerges when a familiar form is allowed to become less certain.
