Jimmy Choo’s spring 2027 collection develops a wardrobe through contrasts in scale, surface and decoration. Creative director Sandra Choi places jewelled details beside pared-back shapes, and familiar silhouettes beside unexpected materials. The collection’s title, Character Studies, suggests a range of personalities rather than a single prescribed look.

The IZU mule makes that approach explicit. Its peep toe and 85mm heel provide a recognisable foundation, but an archival elaphê snakeskin pattern is translated into a monochrome print on latte nappa leather. A brooch of turquoise-coloured resin beads and crystal introduces another layer of contrast. The effect comes from combining a graphic surface with a deliberately emphatic ornament.

The same print takes on a different character in EYLA, a slingback with a 45mm heel and a black, shortened toe. Decoration is not confined to high evening shoes: the floral corsage of the satin COKO design also appears on a lower EYLA in latte nappa. The design moves between silhouettes rather than defining a fixed occasion.
ELLIS approaches proportion from the other direction. Starting with a loafer, the collection offers both a flat version and a 65mm block heel. Black and white are set against the glossy, crinkled finish of naplak leather. BING is also reconsidered as a Mary Jane, where the relationship between a low-cut upper and an arch strap takes precedence over the sparkle associated with the original. Cherry-oxblood nappa and grey flannel give it distinct expressions.

Bags extend the study. The CINCH TOP HANDLE translates the gathered character of the existing family into more discreet side details, with a flap fastening and a small scale intended for carrying by hand or cross-body. Cherry colour and a monochrome elaphê pattern connect it to the wider collection, while the CINCH CLUTCH is suspended from a faceted gold-tone chain.

The ORIA mule adds another variation, enlarging the volume of the house’s Drop heel and tracing a floral motif across hazel nappa with tiny spherical studs. Elsewhere, leather carries a trompe-l’œil denim print. Across these changes, the collection’s most consistent idea is that a familiar form can acquire another personality through a precisely chosen detail.
