A suitcase once collected its own biography: a hotel label here, a destination sticker there, the surface gradually becoming a record of where its owner had been. Hotel Moynat brings that idea into a contemporary accessories wardrobe, translating the travel labels on the house’s archival trunks into colourful leather patches.
Created with Los Angeles-based stylist Storm Pablo and jewellery designer Marvin Douglas, the collection begins with the Monogram M canvas and gives it a more personal, deliberately well-travelled character. Totes, the Hobo and a 48-hour duffle sit alongside smaller pieces that carry the same visual language. The appeal is in the collision between a recognisable house pattern and the individuality of a bag that seems to have accumulated stories.
Postcards in leather
The patches are newly designed rather than simply reproduced from old labels. In the house’s accompanying interview, the collaborators describe an initial visit to the Paris archive as the starting point: the decorated trunks suggested both the collection’s name and its direction. Some motifs refer to places meaningful to the designers and the maison; others imagine hotels of their own.
That distinction gives the collection its charm. These are miniature invitations to travel, rather than a checklist of destinations. Each patch is printed on leather and stitched individually onto the canvas, a construction detail that separates the idea from a flat graphic treatment. Moynat’s image and communications director, Bertrand Le Gall, describes extensive testing to achieve the finish across the different pieces.

A wardrobe for the journey
The first chapter extends beyond larger bags to the Pochette Nomade, a passport holder, charms and silk scarves. New travel Mignon and Limousine trunks bring the story back to the luggage that inspired it. For a woman building a travel wardrobe, the smaller pieces offer a way to introduce the collection’s colour without making every accessory a statement.
The campaign takes that sense of escape to Malibu, where Petra Collins photographs Abby Champion against the shoreline. The relaxed setting gives the patch-covered tote a different life from the formal travel trunk: something to carry into the day, rather than simply pack for a departure.
A second chapter, due in November at selected Moynat boutiques, will take a different detail from the archive. Crystal studs on the Monogram M canvas draw on the protective hardware of historic trunks, shifting the emphasis from travel labels to surface and light.
The first Hotel Moynat chapter launches on 15 October 2026. Discover the collection through Moynat.
