For ArdAzAei’s Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear collection, the nightingale and the rose become a language of shape and texture. Bahareh Ardakani returns to the Persian symbols of love that informed the house’s Fall/Winter 2026–27 couture collection, carrying their romance into lace, knitwear, jersey and tailoring.

The relationship between the two collections is expressed through technique. Pleating, draping and precise construction translate the bird-and-flower motif into clothes that follow the body, with curved lines and flared edges suggesting the contours of a songbird. The references also shape the colour palette: rich red, orange, apricot and earthy pastels draw on the vegetal-dyed colours of heirloom Persian carpets.

A motif in motion

Historical miniature paintings provide another point of departure. Their intertwined birds and flowers appear in custom prints and lace embroidery, while crystal-encrusted lace is layered over silk georgette. Across dresses, wing-tipped tops and asymmetric skirts, the motif moves between recognisable ornament and abstraction.

Knitwear offers a particularly clear expression of Ardakani’s approach. Geometric ribbing radiates from the hips of fitted dresses and through ruffled cardigans. In the collection photographs, an orange dress traces broad curves across the waist before opening into a softer lace hem. A black cardigan and long red skirt sharpen the same interplay of close-fitting texture and movement through colour contrast.

Other pieces allow the fabric to fall more freely. Pleated black separates create a loose, layered silhouette, while jersey dresses use twisted cords to gather and define the waist. Smocked cotton dresses and tops introduce further volume through their flounces.

Couture thinking in a daily wardrobe

Tailoring anchors the collection, including the house’s signature suit in tan. ArdAzAei also reports that 67 per cent of the line is certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard.

Launched in Paris in 2022, the maison brings Persian heritage, Scandinavian modernism and French craft into a shared vocabulary. Here, that vocabulary is especially legible in the knitwear: the construction itself carries the decoration, giving The Nightingale’s Rose a tactile expression in ready-to-wear.
