In honour of International Yoga Day 2025, Sun Siyam Resorts invites guests to slow down and realign with a soulful week of wellness set across two of its most picturesque island sanctuaries in the Maldives. From June 19th to 25th, Sun Siyam Iru Veli and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef will come alive with curated yoga and fitness experiences designed to reconnect the body and mind with the natural rhythms of island life. Whether you’re a wellness devotee or simply seeking a break from routine, this is a rare invitation to move, breathe, and be fully present.

This year’s celebration brings together two internationally renowned experts who share a passion for functional wellness and mindful movement. Guests will have the chance to train with award-winning Executive Health Coach Shane Seery, known for his science-based approach to strength and transformation, and Marina Violinha, a holistic Women’s Health & Fitness Expert whose hormone-informed methods create space for restoration and inner balance. Together, they bring a powerful mix of expertise to this immersive retreat experience.

From June 19th to 21st, the journey begins at Sun Siyam Iru Veli, where guests will take part in three intimate sessions set against breathtaking island backdrops. The week opens with a sunset yoga and wellness talk hosted by Marina on Magoodhoo Beach — an experience crafted to unwind both the body and the mind. The next day shifts into dynamic movement as Shane leads a high-energy functional fitness session on the tennis courts, creating an energising counterbalance to the island’s serenity. On June 21st, the official day of celebration, guests will welcome the sunrise with Marina’s guided yoga and breathwork at Turtle Beach, offering a deeply grounding start to the day.

The retreat continues from June 23rd to 25th at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, where evenings are dedicated to slower, more mindful sessions. Marina returns for two soulful beachside yoga classes and wellness talks, while Shane takes the lead in a high-impact sunset workout on Aqua Beach. Framed by golden skies and rhythmic waves, these sessions are about connection as much as conditioning — a reset for both the body and spirit.

Guests looking to deepen their wellness journey can also enjoy exclusive summer offers. At Sun Siyam Iru Veli, the seven-night package includes complimentary seaplane transfers, a Lucky Dolphin Cruise, a USD 100 spa credit, and thoughtful extras like veranda breakfast and a bottle of wine on arrival. At Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, guests are welcomed with sparkling wine and fruit, plus experiences like a floating breakfast, couple’s spa treatment, complimentary transfers, and even a room upgrade when available. Families are also encouraged to join in, with kids under 12 staying for free.

Whether it’s your first yoga retreat or simply time for a gentle reset, Sun Siyam’s International Yoga Day celebration offers the perfect blend of movement, mindfulness, and Maldivian magic. It’s more than just a wellness programme — it’s a chance to realign with yourself in one of the most beautiful settings on earth.
